A simple, scalable and rapid method for sequencing up to 576 SARS-CoV-2 samples (with COVID Mini) or up to 2304 samples (with COVID Midi) in batches of up to 96 samples in a single run.

The Midnight method amplifies the SARS-CoV-2 genome in 29 overlapping amplicons (~1,200 bp long). By amplifying longer amplicons, Oxford Nanopore's rapid chemistry can be deployed, enabling users to rapidly attach a barcode, pool samples, and adapt them for sequencing. This method is simple and quick to deploy. It allows rapid turnaround times that can assist with monitoring of novel variants of concern.

The protocol delivers robust full genome coverage across a wide range of Ct values. Users can pair the library preparation with an Oxford Nanopore analysis solution to enable a complete end-to-end workflow.

The COVID Mini bundle* contains: 1 Midnight Kit (not available separately), 2 Rapid Barcoding Kit 96 and 6 MinION Flow Cells (R9.4.1),

The COVID Midi bundle** contains: 1 Midnight Kit (not available separately), 8 Rapid Barcoding Kit 96 and 24 MinION Flow Cells (R9.4.1)

* Users wishing to run in multiples of 24 will need to buy 12x Flow Cell Wash Kits.
** Users wishing to run in multiples of 24 or 48 will need to buy 12x or 4x Flow Cell Wash Kits, respectively.

Delivery information: Flow cells and kits are shipped together in an environmentally-friendly, temperature controlled shipping box. Upon receipt, please place the product in a long-term storage location at -20 °C. Oxford Nanopore Technologies deem the useful life of the product to be 3 months from receipt by the customer.
